May Ipsy Bag: Balanced Guru

One of the items that I have been using for the past week and a half or so from my May Ipsy Bag has been the No Frizz hair oil from Balanced Guru. I was unsure about the product when I first received it since it's organic and the first smell I wasn't exactly fond of it. I decided to try it out anyways after I had showered and washed my hair since my hair tends to frizz, and was pretty impressed by it. I usually brush my hair out with my Wet Brush (which is awesome by the way) and I put a few drops of the hair oil into my hands, rubbed it into my hair, and was surprised to see that it seemed to feel lighter and less crazy. After letting my hair air dry I noticed such a different between how my hair usually is without the product and then after. My hair is significantly less frizzy especially when I air dry it and I'm so impressed with this that I'll probably buy some more of it when I run out of it.

OPI: Push and Shove

If you follow me on Instagram (@kristinalynn15) you might have already seen my little addition to my previous mani (which I blogged about here). OPI released their Gwen Stefani collection this year and the one nail polish from that collection I knew I needed to have was "Push and Shove." Let me just start off by simply saying the word "CHROME" now that it's out of my system, how could you pass up such a unique color? Yes there are nail wraps or foils but I personally don't feel like it's the same as painting your nails with a nice, creamy, liquid nail polish. "Push and Shove" comes with it's own base coat that you are to apply before the actual nail polish called "Lay Down That Base." I put on two layers of the chrome polish even though you could get away with only doing one but I wanted to make sure that I had all the areas of my nails covered. With this color you aren't supposed to put a top coat on but rather let it air dry, which I have done previously, but this time I went with a top coat just to make sure it stayed longer.  My first run with this color was amazing but I found that not even within a day, the polish started to rub off with time and I wasn't exactly that impressed with it. The top coat has seemed to help with the rubbing off issue but slightly dulls the chrome effect though it really isn't by that much at all. Either way, top coat or air dry, I still have "Push and Shove" on my favorite nail polish list because I am so amazed and in love with it.

OPI: Bogota Blackberry

This week I decided to venture back to some older nail polishes and went with OPI's "Bogota Blackberry" which is a nice red wine type of color. Speaking of wine wearing this on my nails might call for a nice glass of some! If you do a thick first coat you might be able to get away with that but I always (like usual) do two coats so that I know it's not going to have any spots showing up. I love how rich the color is and it definitely makes me feel a bit fancy!

Zoya: Hazel

This week has been a long one with having Monday off for Memorial Day, anybody else feel like this week was never going to end? Thankfully the weekends are for relaxing and hanging out before going back to the good ole grind Monday morning. Sunday is a trip to the Museum of Science and Industry which will be a long day, so here's a post for the weekend! One of the things I love to do, besides my nails of course, is to read books and I realized this after the fact, but this weekend's nail polish "Hazel" from Zoya fits perfectly for the upcoming Friday movie, The Fault In Our Stars.

"Hazel" is a lighter metallic blue along with some gold flakes thrown in there. I love the chrome type of feel that this nail polish has. Some of the time it also looks a little bit like it has some holographic effects to it as well. It's been a while since I've used this color and although the polish does seem to get a smidge thicker when you start doing the second coat, it's still a great color. I also the like the fact that the name is Hazel which is one of the main characters in a great book-to-movie adaptation which comes on June 6th!
